will she take me back after rehab?

by Anonymous

My girlfriend and I had been together for two and a half years, then my parents got divorced and I took up some unhealthy coping habits such as marijuana and alcohol. Now, I was very inconspicuous about doing the drugs. I made sure I didn't do too many drugs and didn't get too high or drunk.

Well, I also began cheating on my girlfriend. She knows how painful these times have been for me, but she said I've hurt her and she could live with that but she couldn't stand to watch me hurt myself and destroy myself and she told me when I get myself together to come see her again. I've already had an intervention and am going to rehab.

All my friends told me she told them all she'd give me another chance if i got clean. I love her so much and she's so great I want her to take me back but I'm worried she might find someone else while I'm at rehab.

Answer:

Hey man,

It seems like you've got a good head on your shoulders. You've experienced a rough time at an age that is already rough enough. But, it seems like you're aware of the mistakes you've made, and you're doing your best to get on the right track to become the person you want to be.

If you want this girl to give you another chance, you'll have to prove that it's worth it to her, and that you care about her deeply. This means getting better. Also, make sure to tell her how you feel about her. Write it in a letter so she can reread it while you're away. And, if you can, try to keep in contact with her while you're in rehab. Send her a letter every week. This will show her that you care about her, and hopefully will keep her mind on you.

Luckily, girls like taking care of guys. Fixing them. Nurturing them. It's part of the female's nature. But, she will only feel this way up to a point. You'll need to get better. And you can't hurt her again.

Good Luck...
