Should i continue my relationship?

by Mark

I am facing regular arguments and small fights in my relationship. Lately, one of my old friend whom i used to like before i met my girlfriend proposed to me, she is also in a relationship with some other guy and also facing fights and arguments regularly. We both like each other a lot and never had any arguments in a 8 year long friendship. I don't want to cheat my girl but i am not happy with her. I don't know if I love my friend but she makes me feel really special and lately I have been really close to her and we slept with each other. I don't know what to do. I am feeling guilty but also i have not been this happy in a long time. Please tell me what should i do. Should i continue my relationship or start a new chapter with my best friend?

It seems pretty obvious to me that you're unhappy in the relationship you have with your current girlfriend.

So, even disregarding the possibility of a developing relationship with your friend, you need to break up with your girlfriend.

Hanging on to that relationship out of convenience and fear of change isn't fair to her. It makes it even worse that you are hanging on while entertaining such serious feelings for someone else.

So, have the talk, let the girl down easy, and move forward with your friend.

There is no moral imperative to continue in a relationship indefinitely. But, it is wrong to stay in a relationship after you've given up on it.

Good luck.
