Marriage Proposal Poems
Question: Where can I find some good marriage proposal poems? I am about to propose to my wife, and I would like to write a nice poem, but I'm not what you would call a master poet. It would be nice to read a couple good engagement poems to get my brain in the right place, and give me an idea of what a good marriage proposal poem looks like. Alex C, -Houston
After looking around the internet for two solid hours, I have come to the conclusion that there are almost no good resources for good marriage proposal poems out there. I mean, really, I couldn't find a single quality engagement poem. If they exist, they are impossible to find. So, I figured, why not dedicate a page on CDI to engagement poetry? To start things off here is an engagement poem that I wrote:
The Things I WantI want to give you all of my heart, and I think that I can, though this is just the start. I want to make all your dreams come true, and though I'm not perfect, I'll try my best to do this for you. I want you to feel like I am your home, and never again should you feel alone. I want to give you all of my life, and this is why I'm asking you to be my wife. This poem is not perfect, the meter's all wrong, but the other option was singing a song. So if you don't want me to start to sing, would you be a sweet heart, and take this ring?
Not bad, right? OK, it's not great, but I don't even have anyone to propose to yet, so I'm off the hook. Think you can do better? When you've completed your engagement poem, submit it below. Also, feel free to browse what other hopeless romantics have submitted. Together, we can build a library of great proposal poems, and we'll make ladies blush all over the land.
