man does not show affection

by Claire
(London)

What if you are passionate and romantic and affectionate, but your man wants you to presume and just know that he likes you, and hardly ever does romantic things and gets annoyed at you when you go quiet when he snaps at you?

What if he takes you away for a romantic weekend and then sits half the time in the bar watching the football?

Answer

Hey Claire...

Assuming that the relationship is relatively healthy except for this one problem, you simply need to let him know how you feel.

Tell him that you would really him showing his affection a little more often. Tell him that it is really important to you.

If he loves you, he will at least make an effort to be more affectionate. Even if he doesn't get to the point you'd prefer him to be, if he improves at all, you should be pleased and encourage him further.

If he doesn't even try, you've got a problem. If him not showing affection is truly upsetting, you might have to consider leaving the relationship.

Good Luck,
