Does my mom hate me because she thinks i hate her boyfriend?

Hey Hannah... Thanks for your question.

No matter what you think of the people your mom chooses to spend her time with, I'm sure she doesn't hate you.

Do you like her new boyfriend? Because she probably does value your opinion. Whether or not you like your mom's new boyfriend, make sure to communicate your feelings with her.

If you really don't like the guy, try to figure out why. Is it because he actually demonstrated bad behavior around you? Is there some evidence that makes you think he's a bad guy for your mom to be dating?

Or, is it more that you are just uncomfortable with your mom dating someone new? Because that fact alone can be stressful.

No matter how you actually feel, just make sure to communicate those feelings with your mom. If the two of you maintain an open line of communication, you should be able to work through these new challenges, and she definitely won't hate you.
